Reed Expositions sets April launch for first international boat show in the Mediterranean dedicated exclusively to Brokerage with the support of French Nautical Industries Federation
The International Brokerage Show Cannes

The show will be held at Port Canto in Cannes and will host about 100 boats from 18 to 70 metres and up. As the latest of the in-water boat shows, it will benefit from the skills and expertise of the Reed Group in launching and developing major events around the world, with the support of French Nautical Industries Federation, examples of which are the Festival International de la Plaisance de Cannes in September and Nautic de Paris in December which rank among the largest shows dedicated to the boating industry at the European and international levels.

“This project has often been brought up to cover the spring period, but has never been held in France or Europe on this scale,” says Jean-Daniel Compain, General Manager of the Culture & Leisure Division of Reed Expositions in France. “This show aims to become the reference in the market and the essential exclusive event that will enable the brokers worldwide to prepare the summer season effectively, a period that is probably still the most important in terms of business.”

With an expected 10,000 to 15,000 visitors who have very elevated purchasing power (in particular the HNWI–High-Net-Worth Individuals) from 19th to 22nd April 2012, this 1st edition responds today not only to the great expectations of the players in the industry and services dedicated to Brokerage and the superyacht industry, but also to a growing need for information and comparison by a very demanding target, often approached, who are present in great numbers on the French Riviera at this time of year.

The development of the loyalty in this customer segment involves innovative and responsive approaches in terms of communication and tailor-made upmarket services. In-depth knowledge of the market and its major players will enable Reed Expositions, in collaboration with the latter, to implement a programme of priority actions very quickly, including the development of VIP services related to welcoming present and future customers. The programme will be relayed by an online and offline international communication plan targeting not only the owners and users of luxury yachts worldwide but also all the trade professionals operating in this market.

WHY IN THE SPRING ?

• Because close to 80% of the fleet of yachts 24m to 80m and up can be found in the Mediterranean at the end of the winter season.
• Because it is the most important period for launching the season in the Mediterranean.
• Because the show will open its doors ahead of the Cannes Film Festival, a prestigious international event covered by the media around the world for close to ten whole days.

WHY IN CANNES ?

• Because the city of Cannes, easily accessible regardless of the mode of transport, is intent on becoming the yachting capital of the world.
• Because the city of Cannes has exceptional infrastructures and is suited perfectly to upmarket events.
• Because the city of Cannes is already home to Europe’s leading in-water boat show, one of the three largest in-water shows worldwide.
• Because the city of Cannes already accommodates the owners and users of luxury yachts from all over the world throughout the year.
• Because the city of Cannes has solid competences enabling the development of such a major project.

WHY AT PORT CANTO?

• Because Port Canto is ideally located in the heart of Cannes and the French Riviera and benefits from environmental conditions as recognized by the “Blue Pavillon” standard since 2008.
• Because Port Canto will be undergoing a major renovation programme intended to make it one of the most modern and attractive ports for luxury yachting in Europe.
• Because Port Canto already hosts and welcomes some international shipyards as well as major Brokerage players and their yachts.
• Because Port Canto has a port capacity that makes it possible to envisage the “International Brokerage Show” certainly becoming the world’s largest in-water show dedicated to Brokerage.

Reed Expositions France wishes to thank the City of Cannes, Port Pierre Canto and their staff, without whom such a project would not have been possible, as well as the French Nautical Industries Federation for its active support and cooperation.
